Our 0-19 Stockton-on-Tees Growing Healthy Service is taking part in the UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) accreditation process, which involves an external assessment of our infant feeding support and practices. As part of this, assessors may speak with parents/carers about their experiences.
Participation is voluntary. We would love to hear about your experiences of having a baby in our service, as this will help us improve care for mothers and babies in the future.
We have asked UNICEF UK’s BFI to look at the care we provide and they would like to talk to our local families over the telephone. This will take around 10 -15 minutes.
If you do not wish to take part or to be contacted by UNICEF, please let us know by contacting the SPOC, email or informing your health visitor. Opting out will not affect the care or services you receive in any way.
If you have any feedback on the interview please tell your health visiting team or email bfi@unicef.org.uk.
What happens to the information I give?
Your contact details will only be used for the purpose of the interview and will not be used by UNICEF UK for any other reason nor passed on to anyone else. UNICEF UK will securely destroy your contact details within two weeks of the assessment being completed.
What you tell UNICEF UK is confidential and won’t be linked to you by name. They will make brief notes of the conversation, which will be securely deleted from UNICEF UK systems 6 months after the assessment.
UNICEF will talk to many mothers in your area and will use all the answers together to find out what is working well and where we could do better.
UNICEF UK will only feedback your individual information to the service if you or your baby need urgent help or are in danger.
